Now, this particular subject is odd for me. I’m fine with my paradoxical view of these beings, but I will likely confuse people and make them shake their heads at me.
I believe, that when you strip everything down, it is just energy… Energy is redispursed, used, managed, and dispelled. However, it is never created or destroyed. I believe that, much like the science view of it, that it simply changes form. I believe that the inherent laws of the universe apply to magic, and the laws energy are just a branch of those.
When you enter any area, there is normally energy inside of it. When focused, we interpret the energy as creatures, as magical beings. Whether or not these creatures, most of which seem to lack physical form, are real is a moot point. Their energy is real, and everything, when stripped down, is energy. We perceive different energy signatures as different creatures because of their intent and the way we feel about them.
Faeries, playful (occasionally spiteful) frivolous creatures exist in nearly all cultures. Dragons exist in all cultures in some form or another. Ghosts. A magical horse. Creatures that are demi-human. There are certian signatures that are identified nearly the same way every time. We feel them, their intent, and give them form based on what we percieve.
Do they exist? Yes. Are they real? Yes. Do they have to be what we think they are? No. But, energy takes many forms…
