(Parts of this were posted as a comment in Miss Twist’s blog.  I figured I would elucidate on it here.)

Energy work can be fun and interesting when you first start up on it.  To start, most people learn to work a small energy ball in their hands. Now, I’ve always had an issue starting this ball myself.  Undirected energy tends to just be reabsorbed when I work with it.  Unless I’ve a purpose, a direction other than playing with the energy itself, I can’t seem to focus enough intent into what I’m doing to make it work.  That is why most of my work evolved in the ways that it did.

I’ve done a little work in groups, so I’ll explain those first.  The group work is generally one of the following two options:

First, a person leaves a room with an object.  This can be nearly anything: trinket, book, figurine, stuffed animal.  The point of the object itself is not important.  A peice of blank paper is also useful.  However, some people have had issues with that type of item.  Something with a small, previous power seems to be prefered.  The person then fills the object with energy, focusing on transfering an emotion, event, or spesific memory into the item.

This can be extremely tricky in and of itself.  It requires work and a little bit of practice, so if you do not transfer much the first go, do not be too displeased.  After the person finishes imbuing the item, they return to the room and give the item to the people in the circle.  The group members then try to figure out, or read, what the energies that were put into it signify.  They learn to pick apart the energies in the items, learning to tell the histories of the objects.  The last person to guess, or add anything useful to the search, has to cleanse the item, wiping it of all other energies before the next person can continue.

The second exercise is a little different. This particular exercise works best when four or more people sit in a circle, making certian to have someone opposite of them. Someone starts making an energy ball. They play with it, infusing it with something of their own, something that is distinctively theirs.  Then, they pass it around the circle.  Each person recieving the energy adds something to it before passing it on.

When it reaches the begining again, the person who has hold of the energy attempts to find and pull out what the person across from them put into it.  It continues on until the energy ball is completely gone.  This is an exercise that helps the people involved learn the other’s energy signatures and how to find something that they’re seeking within an object or energy.

A trick I like to play on people in my house is pretty simple, though fun.  I like to charge something common with a fair bit of energy, and then pass it to someone.  Depending on their sensitivity, sheilding, and how good they are with the various energy centric abilities, they can be in for quite a jolt or zap!  Unfortunately, some discression with this is advised.  If you are particularly good at this and the individual is particularly sensitive, you can cause damage.
