A ritual and a hope; that is what Beltane this year holds. We’ve been together for just over a month, but we both are ready to completely commit to one another, in every respect.

Beltane, a celebration on the first of May, is a holiday that holds traditions of love, commitment, endearment, and trials. A common way to join in the festivities is to have a handfasting, a joining of two people. The joining can be permanent, but it is usually a trial marriage, so to speak. For one year and one day, the couple are considered married, in all respects except for legally (at least in the eyes of the state).

This is what we have planned. We’re still very young. We’re young in the relationship. However, we’ve faced more trials in this month than most fresh couples face in the first six. A serious illness… dire financial issues… bleak housing situations… We’ve overcome more and more each day… Though how we’ve managed it is a testament to our love for one another. Above all, Love.

We’ve been talking a little to Tasha, and she might do the ceremony with us, as the binding individual. It is odd and amusing that this picture was taken… Although, it is really not difficult to tell that I hate taking random pictures. The look of unease on my face makes me smirk.
